President of Czech Republic Milos Zeman meets staff of Baku State University

President of Czech Republic Milos Zeman has met professor-teacher staff and students of Baku State University.  Rector of Baku State University, MP, Academician Abel Maharramov said national leader Heydar Aliyev attached great importance to development of education, adding the national leader`s ideas were successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.  The Rector highlighted BSU`s history, as well as developing levels, its international relations, successes gained by the University.  The Rector touched upon friendly ties between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic.  Mr. Maharramov said President of Czech Republic Milos Zeman gave significant contributions to development science and education, and stressed the importance of cooperation in educational field.  President of Czech Republic Milos Zeman spoke about political processes, fighting against the terrorism in the world.  Milos Zeman  is the third and current President of the Czech Republic, in office since 8 March 2013. Previously he served as the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic from 1998 to 2002. As leader of the Czech Social Democratic Party during the 1990s, he transformed it into one of the country's major parties. He was Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of the Czech parliament, from 1996 to 1998.
